The Trojans won both scrimmages convincingly Saturday with strong pitching performances by Junior Josh Monson in game 1, and Sophomore Jack Connolly in game 2 (0 earned Runs in 4 innings). At the plate Senior Tyler Glavin was en Fuego going 4 for 6 on the day with a double and 3 singles. Defensively they looked solid, and the bats came alive. Good timing?
Only 2 days until opening day!

Scrimmage Versus Abington
Wednesdays team performance is hopefully a sign of good things to come this season. Sophomore Andrew Noviello led the way on the mound and at the plate with 3 plus strong innings of pitching. He struck out 6 batters and had 2 doubles and 3 RBI's. Senior Brian McSherry also pitched 3 strong innings. Other Trojans with hits were Juniors Corey Dinunno, Joe Freiday Jr., Connor Sullivan and Seniors Tyler Glavin (AKA T-Glav) and Pat McKinnon.
I am sure there is a pretty good chance I missed someones hit (if so please let me know (I'm sorry)). The Trojans travel to Stoughton High School for another scrimmage (weather permitting) on Thursday afternoon. #BRBaseball2013

Snow thank you!
Snow thanks.... Snow problem....
There are certain things you shouldn't see on a baseball field, and snow is one of them. The Blustery weather on Monday didn't stop the BR Trojans from venturing outside (for the first time all year) to play ball against the Middleboro Sachems, in a five inning, lets try and stay warm, scrimmage. I believe the wind chill was around 3 degrees........ OK it wasn't that cold, but it sure felt like it.
While it was good to see some baseball, I am not sure anyone liked the conditions. Tuesday we faced Abington, and the highlight of the day was the 2 Innings pitched by Junior Adam Chase. Adam struck out 5 of the 6 batters he faced, and looked like he was in mid season form.
There will be plenty of baseball between now and Opening Day on April 2nd as we face Abington on Wednesday (HOME), at Stoughton on Thursday, and then we host Attleboro and Oliver Ames in a double header on Saturday.
Tic toc, tic toc... 6 days, 6 hours and 11 minutes until Opening day! #BRBaseball2013

@BRBaseball_
According to @BRBaseball_ : Varsity/JV meet in the locker room by 315 tomorrow (Monday), tryouts will start at 330 in the gym.
Unfortunately Mother Nature doesn't think baseball should start this week, with 2-4 inches of snow forecast for Monday night into Tuesday with not so favorable temperatures for playing baseball all week.

Tic Toc, Tic Toc!
As you can see by the countdown timer above, Opening Day for the 2013 BR Baseball Season is fast approaching! I have decided to write a Blog which will include photos, videos, game highlights, as well as the good and the bad.
The Trojans hope to rebound from a disappointing 2012 season where the Trojans finished 8-12. Returning Senior Captains Mike Bruemmel, Dave Miller, and Ryan Scripter hope to lead the Trojans to a successful 2013 Season.
Returning Juniors Corey Dinunno, Connor Sullivan, and Sophomore hurlers Jack Connolly and Andrew Noviello are sure to play key roles in this season.
The video below are highlights from the walk off win against Barnstable last year. Tryouts start March 18th..........
