Flashback Friday.... April 16, 2013 Trojans win again!

TROJANS WIN AGAIN read the headline...... Sophomore Jack Connolly pitched a complete game, 10 strikeout performance, only giving up 5 hits and 1 earned run, in an ugly win over the New Bedford Whalers in the first game of the Brad Martin Memorial Tournament at Siever Field in Plymouth on Tuesday afternoon. The Trojans remain undefeated and improve to 5-0 early on in this season, and will face Silver Lake (also 5-0) in the battle of the unbeatens, in the Championship game at 2:00 on Thursday at Siever Field. Mike Bruemmel led the offense going 2-3 with a triple and 2 RBI's and Tyler Carey went 2 for 3 with a Home Run! Go Figure........ There are 12 Trojans batting over .333

So I forgot to post a flashback this past week, so here it is!!

April 10, 2013 The Trojans improve to 4-0 defeating New Bedford in a nail biter 9-7.

 

Coach Kearney on the win--"Great game and good win over a tough NB team ! Bruemmel and Connolly nice job pitching - Freiday, Glavin led way offensively - McSherry play of the game on defense to save the lead ! 4-0 baby !!"
Joe Freiday went 2 for 2 with 3 RBI's, Tyler Glavin remained red hot going 3 for 4, Tyler Carey went 2 for 4, and Mike Bruemmel had 2 RBIs to "help himself out" as he improves to 2-0 on the season!!!
Go figure: 11 Trojans had batting averages over .333 through the first 4 games of the season!

Flashback Freiday! April 5, 2013 Joe Freiday Homers twice, Josh Monson throws complete game!

The Trojans rolled to victory Friday afternoon defeating Whitman Hanson 17-1, behind a complete game pitching performance by Junior Josh Monson (9 strikeouts and 0 walks), and a 16 hit attack led by Junior Joe Freiday (3 for 4 with 2 Home Runs, a double and 5 RBI's).
